Infants

Sunshine Room

Our infant classroom are warm and welcoming, encouraging our youngest children to explore and learn.  We have predictable routines that help children feel comfortable, but at this age, we often need to follow the child’s lead if their schedule is not yet in synch with the class schedule.

Learn By Doing

We begin encouraging independence early on, in order to help the children feel successful and confident.  Infants have free movement, allowing them to develop skills at a natural pace.  The curriculum is full of books, art projects, and chances to try out new things.  We use some ‘baby sign’ to help with communication and lessen frustration.  There is also lots of outdoor time, to get in some movement and to get fresh air.  And there are always new things to learn about!

Non-Discrimination Policy:

We recognize that families are the first and most important teachers of the child and respect and uphold the family’s rights, opinions, and culture. This is a safe space where nondiscrimination, teamwork, family values, and communication are held in high regard. We believe in the importance of family and community involvement to ensure that we are creating a caring and constructive environment that will support the health and well-being of all who are involved in our program. We value open communication with families to ensure that families are receiving support and encouragement; partnering with them to provide a strong and positive environment for their child to live and grow.

Inclusion

PCCC is adaptable to families and children with special needs. All children will have access to opportunities to participate in all activities that are appropriate to their age and development. We are happy to modify curriculum, experiences, routine, and emergency procedures to support all children and their developmental levels. Please communicate with us if your child has special needs, what routines/modifications you have at home, and anything that would benefit our staff so we can maintain high-quality, respectful, supportive, and inclusive care for your child.
